The Grapes of Wrath is a realist novel about a farmer family who was struck by intense hardship with the coming of the Great Depression in the early 20th century (1930’s & 1940’s). This Oklahoma family, the Joads, Who are driven off their homestead and forced to travel west to the promised land of California.
Out of their trials and their repeated collisions against the heard realities of an America divided into Haves and Have-Nots evolves a drama that is intensely human yet majestic in its scale and moral vision, elemental yet plainspoken, tragic but ultimately stirring in its human dignity. My intention to communicate the readers trough this cover, is a depressive scene that can moved them using strong elements from the book such a dried crops field, with an abandoned house that represent the isolation of the Joads farm by the dust storms.
